Details: The RESPECT Seminar is part of Missouri's Mental Health Show ME Series of programs designed to improve public knowledge, eliminatre stigma and empower people to move their lives forward regardless of their illness or disablity. Transformation begins with RESPECT. We're thrilled to invite you to Joel Slack's full RESPECT Seminar sponsored by th Mental Health Transformation Workgroup and the Department of Mental Health. The training is free, open to the public and registration is recommended. Divided into two sesions with a break in between, the RESPECT Seminar is designed for mental health and medical professionals, consumers, family members, service providers, direct care staff, peer counselers, human services employees, clergy, law enforcement, educators, civic groups, service organizations, policy makers and all interested community members. Part I introduces RESPECT as an acronym and provides real life examples on the impact respect has on a person recovering from a psychiatric disabillity. Part 2 highlights the dynamics of a human being and how those dynamics are affected by psychiatric illness and treatment experiences. CEUs are available.
